The Lakers are not looking to be aggressive buyers at this year's trade deadline, as they don't believe the core of Austin Reaves, Luka Doncic and Lebron James can seriously contend with teams like OKC and San Antonio.

Members of the Lakers organization believe it is time to move on from LeBron, whether that happens before the trade deadline or this during the offseason, it is glaringly clear the 41-year-old will not be with the team for 2026. However, the Lakers aren't alone with this sentiment. According to reports, LeBron James himself is ready to move on, either in the form of retirement or a trade request.
